AvidFS (or Avid storage emulation) is required for all Avid applications.
After you enable Avid FS on a machine running OSX and reboot it, you might want to make sure that the DDP volumes are recognised as Avid FS storage instead of avfs.

On OSX all you need to do is to open the terminal and enter the ‘mount’ command.
This command will list all the mounted volumes with few details like the identified file system.
So after you enable AvidFS, all DDP volumes should be marked as the following:
