When fast startup is enabled, RAM is saved to disk upon shutdown in order to speed up next boot.

The advantage of that feature is that drivers do not need to be loaded again. The problem is that Windows 10 will also try to restore network connections which do not exist anymore on the DDP.

To prevent this Fast Startup must be disabled.

Go to Windows control panel power options and click "Choose what the power buttons do" from the column on the left:

Uncheck the box for "Turn on fast startup".
